STATUS OF PROCESSING OF CDI CONCEPT NOTE APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BY 9TH JUNE 2011 TO CDTF


We wish to inform the applicants and their partners 
who submitted their Concept Note Applications 
for the CDI 2011 Call for Proposals (CfP) that  
the opening and administrative check on the Concept Note
Application forms has been completed and the forms are
now undergoing assessment and verification of eligibility. 
The results so far are as follows:
Total No. of applications receive  9,919


Total No of Applications that met the CfP closure deadline 9,580
Total No. of Applications that did not meet the CfP closure deadline 339



Communication has already been sent to all 2,492 applicants 
whose applications were not accepted after admin check. 
We request the rest of the public to wait for further information 
which shall be communicated once the current processing is completed
by November 2011.

VENUE: WORLD AIDS DAY 2011


World AIDS Day  is a global event celebrated annually. This year's event in Teso North District will be commemorated at Rwatama Primary School, Angurai Division on Thursday 1st December 2011 starting 8.00am. There will be many activities to mark this important day.

Theme: “Getting to Zero: Zero to new HIV infection, Zero to Discrimination and Zero to HIV related deaths”.

DISTRICT PLANNING UNIT


The Ministry of planning in conjunction with African Development Bank (ADB) initiated the Construction of DPUs in some districts and improving which were built before.

The project being implemented is under Community Empowerment and Institutional Support Project (CEISP). The sector goal of the project is to empower poor communities to access socio-economic services in order to reduce poverty. Its objective is to improve the management of the socio-economic development.

The project has two components: Capacity Building and Strengthening Decentralized Development Planning and Finance.
Teso North has completed its First component which was to improve the existing Planning Unit.

World Aids Day would be celebrated on 1st Dec 2011 at Angurai Division Teso North.

You are all welcome.

TOURISM

The District has some tourism potential that can be tapped if the requisite products are developed and marketed. The key site for tourism is Kakapel Rock Art Museum - A site gazetted and protected by National Museums of Kenya. the site and its impressive caves is not only a potential for both foreign and local tourists but is also culturally significant to the Bukusu people of Kenya and their Bagisu cousins in Uganda.

ACHIEVEMENT IN THE 2011/2012 FINANCIAL YEAR

The DDO's office being a secretariat that cordinates devlopment programmes in the district would like to report  the achievements made in the 2011/2012 financial year as follows.

The office successfully managed to convene DEC  and DDC meetings as per quarterly requirement. We thank the departmental heads and all key stakeholders in the district for making it possible to meet the set targets.

The office has also managed to create a blog, http://tesonorth.blogspot.com. where our Ministry, clients and potential development partners can access, gauge our progress and positively contribute towards uplifting the livelihoods of Teso community.
